dara_torres_milk-adpdf41People ask me all the time how can they lose their gut and get six pack abs. They usually tell me that they’re eating “healthy” and are doing some type of cardio 4-5 times per week but they just can’t seem to get rid of the pooch hanging over their belt line.

Here are my TOP 3 Nutrition Tips to discard that unwanted body fat and get those abs popping out this summer.

1) Eat clean
Eating “clean” means all-natural foods and nothing processed. Stay away from canned and boxed goods. Focus on eating lean meats, fresh vegetables and fruits and raw nuts. One of the best ways to do this is to do all your shopping on the outer part of the grocery store. Give this a try and you’ll see what I mean.

2) Eat often
This is probably one of the hardest things for people to do,and one of the most important. Most of us have heard how eating 5-6 small meals/day is the best way to eat. It is the way to go but is “easier said than done”. With frequent feedings our metabolism raises and our bodies start shedding body fat. Three healthy main meals with foods from Tip 1 and two healthy snacks in between your meals will be a good start.

Check this video out where I show you what I do for my snacks sometimes.

3) Drink clean
Out of all the nutritional supplements on the market today, WATER is the most important, and also the cheapest. Yet most of us do not drink enough of it and waste our hard earned money on useless supplements. A good place to start is to consume half your body weight in ounces. The more active you are the more you need to drink. Stay away from sugary drinks, soda, diet soda, energy drinks, loading your coffee drinks with cream and sugars or artificial sweeteners, and alcohol.

There you have it, 3 basic nutrition tips that will get you on the right track to having that flat stomach and six pack abs.

With these tips and using my “more bang for your buck” exercises from my previous post, your abs will be popping out before summer ends!
